ibiza
4 days after Sebastian proposed to me, we took a 8 day trip to Madrid and Ibiza. It honestly felt like a mini-moon! I wanted to share some of our favorite spots/itinerary for ibiza: We only spent 3 nights in Ibiza but definitely could've extended this into a week long vaca. The first night we wanted to stay in Ibiza town -- so we stayed at Nobu Hotel. We wanted to stay here because it was close to downtown and the night clubs. Full disclosure though: we walked from the hotel to the downtown area - it was a cool 45 min walk (we underestimated how far it was). We ended up taking a cab back to the hotel after spending time in the city. While the hotel is in "ibiza town", you'll still need a cab back/forth to get around.
The first night there, we had dinner at Nobu Sushi bar at the hotel and went out to Pacha night club. Definitely worth the hype! You can buy tickets to the club ahead of time or at the door. Pacha is one of the biggest night clubs on the island and is branded everywhere(!) They even have local merchandise stores in ibiza town (we admittedly picked up pacha t-shirts and nick-nacks). There are other clubs across the island that were recommended: Amensia (in the center of the island) and Ushuaia (best known for its day pool parties). For the second half of the trip, we were supposed to stay at the W hotel in Santa Euarlia des Riu - but due to delays in opening, they had to transfer us to an equivalent hotel on the island. As a result we ended up in the northwest part of the island at 7 Pines Hotel. I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. The views were incredible and definitely a good spot for a couples get-away:
It was a blessing in desguise that we transferred from the southeast to the northwest of the island. As a result, we decided to take a road trip to beach hop on the northern part of the island. Here were all our stops:
Cala Saladeta (our favorite!!) Cala Saladeta was our favorite because it felt like a private beach where the locals hang out. Everyone had a drink in hand and it was by far, the most beautiful we saw on the island.
2. Stop in San Antonio for lunch at Cafe Mambo (local day club)
3. Cala Bassa Cala Bassa wasn't worth it for us. It was overcrowded and the beach was full of rocks. It is, however, a good place if you're looking for day clubbing. They have several clubs along the beach with bumming music. Still, it was kind of trashy, and there are better beaches to lounge.
4. Cala Comte Cala Comte wasn't our vibe either. However, it's family friendly - the beach was filled with children and families.
5. Es Vedra (Tied as our favorite stop) Es Vedra was super tricky to find but totally worth it in the end!! You can tell this was a local spot to watch sunsets and chill.
How to get to Es Vedra?
Honestly, it took us about 30 min to find the entrance for the Es Vedra viewpoint. It isn't popularized with signs and cars so its really difficult to spot. Its a hidden drive way that takes you down a dirt road. You have to park on the trail and hike for about 10 min before getting to this view:
